I was honoured to be asked to attend the 57th Annual Florence Nightingale Commemoration Service at Westminster Abbey London on 11 May 2022.

The service was to honour nurses past and present following on from the work of Florence Nightingale. HRH Princess Alexandra who has been the royal patron of the foundation for the last 65 years, attended the service and prayers/sermons were read by nurses, dignitaries and Deans of Westminster.

The highlight of the ceremony was watching the role of honour and Florence Nightingales lamp being paraded through Westminster Abbey. Very proud moment and reminds me why I became a nurse.
